2. Payment Processing & Authorization

How Payment Processing Works:

Step 1: Authorization Check

When you place an order, we perform an immediate authorization check with your payment provider to verify that sufficient funds are available and that the card is valid.

Step 2: Payment Hold

Your payment method will show a pending authorization hold for the full order amount (including items, shipping, and tax). This is not a charge yet—it’s a temporary hold to reserve funds.

Step 3: Order Processing Begins

Once authorization is approved, we begin processing your order. For custom, personalized, or made-to-order items, production begins only after payment authorization is successful.

Step 4: Final Charge

Your card is charged when your order is prepared for shipment. At this point, the authorization hold becomes a completed transaction, and funds are transferred to finalize payment.

Step 5: Payment Confirmation

You’ll receive an email confirmation with your order details, payment receipt, and tracking information once your order ships.

Authorization Hold Duration:

  • Standard items: Authorization converts to charge within 1-2 business days
  • Custom/personalized items: May take 3-7 business days depending on production time
  • If order is cancelled before shipping, the hold will be released within 3-5 business days (timing varies by bank)

Failed Payment Authorization:

  • If payment authorization fails, you’ll receive an immediate notification
  • Common reasons: insufficient funds, incorrect billing information, card expired, card declined by issuer
  • Your order will not be processed until a successful payment is made
  • You can update payment information and retry, or use a different payment method
  • Orders are automatically cancelled if payment is not successful within 24 hours
